Industry Status
Here are recent, sourced developments shaping chauffeured ground transportation in 2025–2026:
Insurance costs remain a top industry concern. The National Limousine Association highlighted a University Transportation Research Center report finding that 87% of limousine operators surveyed saw insurance premium increases over three years—even as nearly half reported no claims in that period.
NLA urges stronger passenger-safety standards. Following national attention on ride-hailing safety reports, the NLA called for consistent, enforceable safety rules across ground transportation platforms, including uniform background checks and mandatory incident reporting.
CD/NLA Vegas Show drew a global crowd. The Chauffeur Driven / NLA show in Las Vegas welcomed more than 2,000 attendees from 40 countries, with sessions on strategy, technology, insurance, and operations.
NLA Day on the Hill focused on insurance, safety, and tax policy. More than 70 members met with congressional offices in Washington, DC. Priorities included affordable insurance and staged-accident fraud, passenger safety standards, No Tax on Tips guidance, and Section 179 vehicle deductions.
Costs, competition, and technology are reshaping luxury ground transport. NLA leadership described rising insurance bills (including increases with clean claims records), competition from unlicensed operators, and growing attention to AI and autonomous-vehicle developments—while corporate travel remains the core of much industry demand.
2026 CD/NLA Fall Show comes to the Washington, DC area. The fall show is scheduled at the Gaylord National (National Harbor), bringing education and networking close to RSTQ’s home market.
